DUTCH MUSTARD RELEASES NEW SINGLE “LIFE” VIA DM RECORDS
HEADLINE TOUR IN AUGUST
Dutch Mustard – the moniker of Sarah-Jayne Riedel (AKA SJ) – releases new single “Life” via DM Records ahead of an August headline tour.
“Life” showcases a new side to Dutch Mustard’s typically hazy alt-rock in its skittish directness. Taut drums power the track, which is characterised by an infectious urgency. This leans in to the lyrical themes, which deal with the overwhelming pinch-point of a messy personal moment – as SJ explains:
“Life is the soundtrack to that heartbreak you should’ve seen coming, when everything gets so chaotic and absurd, all you want to do is tap out for a minute.”
The new single was co-written with Dean James Barratt (Alewya, Rag‘n’Bone Man) and Craigie Dodds (Gorillaz, Sugababes, Amy Winehouse), and comes with a carefully planned video – splitting the difference between gritty indie-night reality and pin-point mainstage dance choreography.
