CANNONS UNVEIL NEW SINGLE “LIGHT AS A FEATHER”
COLUMBIA RECORDS/RCA
Alternative/electro-pop band Cannons have released their latest new song and accompanying visualizer titled “Light as a Feather” via Columbia Records/RCA. The track serves as the latest single off the band’s forthcoming album Everything Glows, out Friday, March 27.
A quintessential pop track filled with positivity and confidence, “Light as a Feather” is a standout track from a record packed with undeniable songs. Opening in slow-motion with keyboards sighing behind twinkling stereoscopic guitars, the track soon explodes into a dance anthem, the rhythm pushing Joy to ecstatic heights as she sings, “You used to hold me/said that this would last forever. But now I dance alone/And I feel lighter than ever.”
Cannons will take Everything Glows to the live stage on their upcoming co-headline tour with electronic duo Bob Moses. The North American tour kicks off this March in Phoenix and will hit major cities including Brooklyn, Los Angeles, Chicago, and more. Tickets for the tour are on sale now at https://www.cannonstheband.com/#shows, and full routing and details can be seen below.
Everything Glows is a powerful and entrancing fifth album from the beloved band. Written and recorded as lead singer and songwriter, Michelle Joy rebuilt her health, showcasing less the sound of a band returning from a rest, and more a trio of friends reinventing the way they create, collaborate, and sound. The album radiates a sense of camaraderie, of bearing witness to one another through travails and triumphs. The 11 songs of Everything Glows navigate heartbreak and codependence, brokenness and, ultimately, liberation, spotlighting a group that found new ways to move forward and absolute excitement in both the process and its results.
Cannons first gave fans a glimpse of what was to come with the first single of this era, “All I Need,” a dreamy, synth-pop track, released in October. “Starlight,” the band’s glittery and infectious track, and “These Nights,” the band’s most recent disco-infused single, continue to give listeners a taste of what’s to come, which features their most unified, creatively fearless work yet.
