TWO NEW CHURCH OF TREES SINGLES – “DESOLATION” & “MY BEST MISTAKE”
THE LATEST ALBUM TRANSIENCE KEEPS ON GIVING
Two new singles, “Desolation” and “My Best Mistake”, further demonstrate the band’s range and versatility.
“Desolation” could easily be peeled from Gary Numan’s latest releases. The dark, moody synth groove growls under hints of industrial and swirls with tinges of R&B thanks to some eminently groovy guitar by former Alannah Myles Band’s Larry Bethune.
Church of Trees chief songwriter, Bernard Frazer, says “Larry and I started collaborating back in the 80’s, but it had been a while, and I was really missing his energy. So, I asked him to add some of his magic to a few tracks.”
“My Best Mistake” takes a much different tack with its pulsing four-on-the-floor electro kick, spiraling synths, and layered harmonies.
“It feels upbeat and happy, but it’s really about giving in to addiction” admits Frazer. “Some of us can be so thoroughly seduced by drugs or booze that, even though we know we are losing the battle, those moments can often be too euphoric to care.”
The track features New Hampshire’s Bob Prendergast on guitar with a glorious mix of synths & vocals by Frazer and Heather Brazeau.
Both “Desolation” and “My Best Mistake” were produced by Frazer and Blinker the Star wunderkind Jordon Zadorozny at Zadorozny’s Skylark Park studio.
