FRONT LINE ASSEMBLY RELEASE “MOLOTOV (REMIXED)” FEATURING S:CAGE + FAMINE + LYS MORKE
ARTOFFACT RECORDS
An opportunity to remix the legendary and influential Front Line Assembly does not come often. A careful consideration is undertaken to deliver something that honours, respects and exemplifies FLA’s influential and progressive sound, yet still showcases the creative talents of each individual artist involved. The result. “Molotov”. A remix. A reimagining. A collaboration.
s:cage is the electronic music alias of producer Stephen Seto, known for blending atmospheric textures with experimental beats, fusing elements of ambient, industrial, and IDM. Emerging in the late 1990s, s:cage has gained recognition for his intricate sound design and emotional, immersive soundscapes. Drawing from a wide range of influences, his work combines organic and synthetic elements to create complex, thought-provoking compositions. With a focus on innovation and detail, s:cage has built a reputation as a forward-thinking artist in the experimental electronic scene.
Stephen has also been an integral part of the promotional and marketing team at Artoffact Records for the past 10+ years, working as the label’s graphic designer and design consultant.
Famine is an electronic music producer and programmer whose work is inspired by the interplay of audio complexity and drama. Known for crafting immersive auditory experiences, their music blends contrasting sounds and textures, creating a sense of perceived sonic dimensionality. Since the early 1990s, they’ve developed a distinctive style of sampling and programming, alongside being an accomplished synthesizer player and percussionist. With nearly three decades of credits spanning remixes, live performances with iconic electronic musicians, and sound design for TV and film, their work invites listeners to dance, dream, and discover the unexpected.
Famine can also be heard (and seen) adding bleeps, bloops and his musical sensibility to the live performances of veteran Artoffact band, Encephalon
Lys Morke (Irene Talló) is a singer-songwriter, producer and visual artist based in Barcelona. Whether with intimate ballads drenched in electronic landscapes- or with reggaeton, techno, autotune and thick bass sounds – her songs tell us stories of desire, cruel love and loss. An exercise of introspection and vulnerability that reflects the therapeutic process: feeling and materializing emotions in order to heal and rebuild oneself.
She released her debut EP Knife Therapy under the Canadian label Artoffact.
s:cage and Famine have been performing shows together since the mid 2000s. This is their first collaboration. The result is a seamless blend between the richly textured soundscapes of s:cage and the intricate complex rhythms of Famine. And with her beautifully haunting and ethereal voice, conveying both vulnerability and strength, Lys Morke creates a sense of quiet intensity and emotional depth that meshes harmoniously with the often frantic energy of the music. This is their remix of Front Line Assembly’s “Molotov”. A unique sonic exploration and reimagining of the original track. The future is coming. You will move and be moved.
