FRANKIE FLOWERS ASKS “WHERE DID YOU SLEEP LAST NIGHT?” ON “AUGUSTA”

Built around one increasingly loaded question, “Where did you sleep last night?”, “augusta” is a feverish alternative track that spirals through suspicion, denial and the point where instinct becomes impossible to separate from paranoia.
“People keep telling me things / I just say they’re wrong,” FLOWERS sings, before returning again and again to the question at the centre of the track. What exactly happened is left deliberately unclear.
Developed alongside members of Toronto punk outfit The OBGMs, “augusta” pairs FLOWERS’ darker, off-kilter songwriting with an immediate hook that becomes increasingly obsessive as the track unfolds. It’s the first look at her eight-track debut album, My Love Is a Dog From Hell!, arriving this November.
The album also extends beyond the music itself: FLOWERS has collaborated with a local perfumery to turn each of its eight songs into its own fragrance, built around the imagery and atmosphere of the track it represents.
FLOWERS has previously earned support from Indie88 and Ones To Watch, had her music featured on Hockey Night in Canada, performed at Sled Island and Departure Festival, and supported both KennyHoopla and The OBGMs at sold-out shows.
“augusta” arrived September 18 alongside its full official music video.
