It’s been a few years since we last heard from Toronto-based alt-rock band Madame Psychosis, largely due to a global pandemic that impacted the plans of countless up-and-coming artists. Their single “Kapow” from their sophomore album Survivor made waves in 2019 and caught the attention of several music writers around the world, setting up big expectations for their next release.

Now, Madame Psychosis is back and ready to meet that challenge with “Concrete Streets”, a powerful alt-rock anthem that delivers a much-needed message of self-care and escaping the daily grind to reconnect with ourselves. With strong hooks, rich harmonies and poignant lyrics, this energetic offering uncovers the struggle to achieve work-life balance, a theme that resonated with the band especially at the height of the pandemic when the track was first written.

“We all strongly believe in the importance of getting away from the concrete jungle and instead diving into the serenity of nature”, says Michelle Mondesir, the band’s lead singer and lyricist. “We should all do more to turn inward towards our passions and rekindle our love of life.”

In a world where we are constantly pulled in multiple directions by the demands of life, “Concrete Streets” delivers a profound message by reminding us of the importance of taking a break and embracing our mental health. It evokes a new sense of adventure, one where you are invited to “pack your bags” and join the main protagonist on a journey to “let go” and “reload”.
