MISTERWIVES w/ BISHOP BRIGGS & RAFFAELLA
@ HISTORY, TORONTO
SEPTEMBER 19, 2023
Misterwives delivered an absolutely sensational performance. The show featured an exclusively female lineup, featuring the talents of Raffaella and Bishop Briggs. In their impressive decade-long career, it marked the very first occasion that Misterwives had embraced an all-female ensemble, a momentous milestone long overdue.
The evening commenced with the first track from their new album, “Out of Your Mind.” The audience was instantaneously captivated, with an infectious energy coursing through the crowd, setting an electrifying tone that endured throughout the entire set. Not once did the excitement wane.
The audience paid a touching tribute to the band during the performance of “Ultraviolet.” Fans illuminated the venue by holding up pieces of purple paper against their flashlights, a beautiful gesture that underscored their appreciation for the song’s message and their unwavering support for the artist. It was a truly heartwarming sight.
A particularly memorable moment occurred when Mandy Lee, the lead singer, ventured into the midst of the crowd, warmly interacting with fans and soaking in the vibrant atmosphere.
Misterwives is a band that can generate an incredibly electrifying atmosphere. They are undeniably flawless entertainers who possess a natural talent for putting on an unforgettable show. Their infectious energy was intense, infusing every corner of the audience, even prompting those in the seated section to rise from their seats and join in the dancing.
While most of the performance showcased their new material from Nosebleeds, Misterwives also took us back to where it all began with renditions of “Our Own House” and “Reflections” β two personal favorites of mine. This show is the epitome of a perfect night out, blending infectious beats with an unparalleled live music experience, making it ideal for anyone seeking an evening of dancing and great music.
