LAST DINOSAURS w/ TEN02 & LOVIET
@ COMMONWEALTH BAR & STAGE, CALGARY (AB)
FEBRUARY 17, 2026
Beloved Australian indie rockers Last Dinosaurs have embarked on a tour to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their second album, Wellness. Recently, they also released Wellnxss, a reimagined version of Wellness. The new album also features five previously unreleased songs. For the third stop on their tour, Last Dinosaurs gave an excellent performance at the Commonwealth Bar & Stage in Calgary.
Ten02 started the night off, delivering one of the best opening sets I have seen in quite some time and likely gaining many news fans in the process. “Circles (Around The Truth)” is indie rock at its finest, featuring an earworm chorus and an exhilarating guitar solo that will knock your socks off. The joyful energy, groovy vibes, and upbeat sound of “Francais” was another highlight. It was also incredibly entertaining and infectious watching the band happily move along to this song while playing their instruments. Up next was Loviet, who played some terrific ’90s-inspired alternative pop-rock bangers. With loud, crunchy guitar riffs, hypnotic hooks, and powerfully soaring vocals, Loviet’s set was outstanding. A main highlight from Loviet’s set was “Broken Lips,” with the ethereal soundscape really standing out.
From start to finish, Last Dinosaurs were top-notch. They performed all the tracks from their album Wellness. They started their set off strong with an incredible performance of “Take Your Time.” The energy was high, it sounded fantastic, and Sean Caskey’s vocals were spectacular (as they were the entire night). “Karma” was an absolute stunner. The main guitar riff has been playing in my head ever since the concert ended. Caskey’s vocals on this song were excellent. Their captivating performances of “Purist” and “Wurl” had the entire crowd jumping up and down. Plus, the unforgettable choruses of both had most fans chanting the lyrics. “Wellness” was super mesmerizing and was easy to get ‘lost in the music.’ Lastly, “Zero” was phenomenal, as everything about it was perfect, especially the irresistibly catchy chorus, driving guitar riffs, and danceable hooks.
Fans also got to hear the new songs live. The two that stood out the most were “Dive” and “Pink Flags.” “Dive” sounded wonderful live, especially the hypnotic vocal harmonies and the super catchy chorus. On the other hand, the gorgeous melodies, dreamy sound, and kinetic guitar riffs of “Pink Flags” were incredible to hear live.
Last Dinosaurs also did an encore consisting of two songs. The first song was a super groovy, fun medley of dance/disco covers, including Junior Senior’s “Move Your Feet.” They ended the night with an electric performance of “Apollo,” which had the whole venue singing along.
Overall, if you are a huge fan of indie rock, be sure to check out one of Last Dinosaurs’ upcoming shows.
