EVANESCENCE
@ ROCK FALCON STUDIO, NASHVILLE (TN)
DECEMBER 5, 2020
The first performance from Evanescence in 2020 was a live session from the Rock Falcon studio in Nashville, TN, where they have been recording their latest album The Bitter Truth. The pre-show session consisted of frontperson Amy Lee answering fan questions. When she was asked what comes easier, music or lyrics, without hesitation she answered “Music.” She also spoke of their time in Canada where they used the time in isolation for writing. Her thoughts on this year? “The biggest lesson to take from 2020? Don’t take anything for granted”.
Lee introduced the band with members Jen Majura in Germany, Tim McCord in California, and the rest in the studio. They displayed their profound talent and Lee’s amazing vocal range in “Wasted on You”, “The Game is Over”, and their breakout song, “Bring Me To Life”. They shifted gears and closed out the performance with Lee playing piano in acoustic versions of “Lost in Paradise” and a cover of Portishead’s “Give Me A Reason To Love You”.
