Tiffany Williams
All Those Days of Drinking Dust
Blue Redbird
If you think All Those Days of Drinking Dust, the title of the debut album by Eastern Kentucky singer songwriter Tiffany Williams sounds like a possible title of a novel or a collection of short stories (more the latter), you just might be on the right track. Williams turns out to be quite a book buff, and that literary connection is all over the lyrics to the 10 songs here.
Yet, all that would be to no avail if the quality of the music didn’t match her lyrics. But Williams and the very experienced producer Duane Lundy (Ringo Starr, Jim James, Sturgill Simpson, Vandaveer) gathered an excellent set of players to work on Williams’ sophisticated take on Americana. While that take can sound quite traditional, so to say, on songs like βKnow Your Worthβ, there is always at least some sense, or more than just a sense as heard on the opening title track, that give the songs the personal touch that Williams’ lyrics deserve.
One of the better Americana debuts of the year.
