Okay, you don’t have to be a fan of a certain genre, but then, if you are trying to be objective, there are certain things you simply cannot ignore, and that is the capabilities, experiences, and professionalism, and if these things are at the highest level, the quality of the music has to be there. And if you keep your ears open, you’ll eventually get it.

With the followers of a certain sound the same criteria apply, and they can’t miss it from the start. That is why Tedeschi Trucks Band have from the get-go gained a staunch following that included one additional factor – their take on everything classic rock, blues, soul and quite a few other things is among the few best these days.

Future Soul, the latest by the 12-piece collective, not only proves all of the above, but proves the title this album bears – something that has gone on before can be split down to its key elements, and then built up again to the liking and imagination of all involved here, making something considered old sound brand spanking new again. An only real master can do that.
