SEASONAL FALLS
IMPROVISED SINKING
INDEPENDENT

Those following Spill Magazine might already be familiar with the Swiss duo of songwriter Roman Gabriel and vocalist Andrew Pelletier that operates as Seasonal Falls, as their album Happy Days (2024) has already been reviewed here.
Now, Seasonal Falls are back with a new EP, and as the title of their previous offering might have been a bit of a misnomer for the tender melancholia Seasonal Falls presented there, the same could be (at least partly) said about the title of this one – that well-constructed and detailed take on folk-tinged melancholia, into which you could really sink your thoughts and mood, with its intricate melodies and arrangements that doesn’t really sound that improvised, and it just might be the case that Gabriel and Pelletier usually have their tongues slightly kept between their cheeks, that is, when they don’t come up with some nifty vocal harmonies along the way.
