SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: RYKARDA PARASOL – TUESDAY MORNING

Rykarda Parasol

RYKARDA PARASOL
TUESDAY MORNING
INDEPENDENT

How do you combine that mid to late 60s San Francisco style psych with French pop of the same period with touches of that Velvet Underground dark cool? Well, if you are Rykarda Parasol, you move from San Francisco to Paris, take a break from recording to write a serious book for teens and then record your latest (fourth) album Tuesday Morning both in San Francisco and Paris, keeping those Nico-style dark-tinged vocals intact.

And it all seems to have worked wonders for Parasol here, keeping up with her old collaborators, she was able to combine those psych styles in an almost perfect unison, as if she lived through that period herself, this time around with some modern production that accentuates her now fully mature and detailed songwriting.

It seems taking a break from music did wonders for Parasol.
