ORGY
CANDYASS
REAL GONE MUSIC/ELEMENTREE
Orgy’s debut studio album, Candyass, a pioneering work in American industrial rock, was unleashed on August 18, 1998, described as the genre-defying “death pop”. Orgy, signed by Korn’s Jonathan Davis to Elementree, instantly soared with the 1998 debut, reaching Top 30 & achieving a significant hit with their cover of New Order’s “Blue Monday.” Despite its late-’90s acclaim, the album has been notably absent on vinyl until now.
In collaboration with Orgy, Real Gone Music presents a long-awaited vinyl reissue of Candyass. Remastered by Mike Milchner of Sonic Vision, the clear with red and yellow swirled record is enclosed in a captivating gatefold jacket. The album’s eagerly anticipated pressing comprises of 12 tracks, six per side, featuring iconic hits including “Blue Monday,” “Stitches,” and “Dissention”. This marks the vinyl debut for the first of two of Orgy’s turn-of-the-century records, addressing persistent demands for a vinyl release.
The red & yellow translucent disc comes in an archive quality inner sleeve which was a pleasant departure from traditional paper sleeves. The gate fold outer sleeve depicts the album artwork crisply. No additional inner sheets, download cards or posters accompanied the disc. The deep bass resonates throughout the robust audible spectrum. No audible clicks or pops during playback. Minimal production grime and paper accumulation which is attributable to the inner sleeve quality. This release of Candyass is on par with Real Gone Music’s recent releases, this pressing should be met with praise, warranting further pressings.
