Bryan James Duffy
The Red Brick Road
Independent
Guitarist, singer, and songwriter Bryan James Duffy has been a working musician since the age of 17, and his musical journey has taken him from North Bay, ON to Toronto, and finally to Las Vegas, where Duffy performs most nights with his band The Garage Boys. He has now released his first solo album, The Red Brick Road.
Title track “The Red Brick Road” pays homage to hard-driving hair bands from the 1980s. “Black Coffee And Alcohol” is a rocking crowd-pleaser that is going to be well-received every time it is played live. “The Most Beautiful Suicide” is an acoustic number that harkens back to the folk-rock era of the 1960s. Every track on the album offers something a little different, demonstrating Duffy’s versatility as a songwriter.
Duffy’s time spent as a hard-working musician has served him well on this album, because he knows how to craft songs combining superb guitar technique, tight lead vocals and harmonies, and memorable riffs. Combine that with top-notch post-production, and the result is an album that is over too quickly. The Red Brick Road is a terrific offering from a musician who knows his craft and is well worth a listen.
