SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: BREEZERS – HIDEAWAY

Breezers

BREEZERS
HIDEAWAY
INDIE AM GOLD

Breezers is yet another musical moniker and behind it is L.A.-based singer-songwriter and multidisciplinary artist Evan apRoberts. apRoberts is essentially an L.A. scene veteran since he’s been on that scene since the 90s but started working as Breezers back in 2016.

With Hideaway he continues where he left off with his previous efforts, coming up with some subtle, often soft roots/Americana that has all the qualities of the best within the genre – some excellent songwriting, first and foremost, but also the playing and vocals that support it fully.

While part of the credit goes to his collaborators here, Michael Nau, Melissa Castellano and Graeme Gibson, accomplished artists in their own right, it is apRoberts that shines through with his fully formed and developed songs, indicating that besides L.A. he might been in a hideaway, but that this Hideaway just might be a sign of a breakthrough elsewhere.
