Art d’Ecco dances to his own beat, once again, with his fourth LP, Serene Demon. This 10-song diverse treasure trove of passionate sound is fittingly being released Valentine’s Day 2025.

In Serene Demon, d’Ecco has created a unique earworm mix with elements from a plethora of genres including 80s pop, 70s rock, jazz, disco, funk, electronic, and synth pop. There is no clear singular influence revealed on Serene Demon, other than the apparent indelible mark that being a child of the 80s has brought upon d’Ecco. His apparent affection for interesting and highly creative music from that decade is on true display as he puts his own spin on that genre.

Art d’Ecco’s music can’t and shouldn’t be pegged into a specific category. His range of musical influences is all over the map and naming them does a disservice to the creativity that d’Ecco has produced throughout Serene Demon. D’Ecco infuses instruments such as piano, bongo drums, trumpet, saxophone, synthesizers, guitar, bass, drums, and even a rare marimba.

Title track and top tune, “Serene Demon”, launches into a piano lounge number, before taking a detour of sound, ultimately becoming the most bloody memorable song on the album with an equally memorable music video. Other incredibly strong tracks include “The Traveller”, “Tree Of Life”, “Honeycomb”, “True Believer” and “Survival Of The Fittest”.

Serene Demon continues Art d’Ecco’s evolution as he continues to shed his androgynous character and seemingly has been freed to explore further his musical influences. Serene Demon is musically and lyrically the strongest, most intriguing of his already excellent catalogue.
