All Hallow’s E.P. (Vinyl Reissue)
Craft Recordings
Catchy choruses, high energy, dark sound effects, and plenty of “whoah’s” are packed into this four-song horror punk conceptual EP All Hallow’s.
The first track “Fall Children” begins slow but then bursts into punk perfection as singer Davey Havok yells the lyrics.Their cover of The Misfits’ “Halloween” makes an appropriate appearance and is done quite well. However, the minute and a half of eerie sound effects at the end would make this song more appropriate as the outro track.“The Boy Who Destroyed TheWorld” with predominantly fast, furious drumming, is a good track as well. Some may even recognize the song from the video gameTony Hawk Pro Skater 3from back in the day.”Totalimmortal” with its heavy bass riff and chanting chorus makes it perhaps the catchiest song on the EP.
Despite not being a huge punk fan, it’s only 13 minutes long — ah, see what they did there? — and easily makes you yearn for more.
The 20th anniversary vinyl reissue is a no-brainer for your collection if you’re a punk fan, and an absolute must for your collection if you’re an AFI fan.
