FORTUNATO DURUTTI MARINETTI
BITTER SWEET, SWEET BITTER
QUINDI RECORDS

Fortunato Durutti Marinetti, has been trekking between Turin, IT, and Toronto for a few years now, recording albums that fans of a wide range of artists, from Tindersticks to Destroyer (and few jazz iconoclasts in between) would cherish. Now, Colussi is back with his fourth album, Bitter Sweet, Sweet Bitter, with his quite personal take on jazzy baroque pop.
Of course, any such combination offers so many opportunities to either come up with something quite unique, or something that should simply be avoided.
Luckily, Colussi has a keen sense for a great melody wrapped in delicate arrangements, and his lyrical sense is up to a par with both of those. At the same time, his vocal delivery is able to bring everything to life and wrap all the elements of his music in a neat (not so little) package, creating one interesting surprise album that can illuminate your summer days (and nights).
