MILO BINDER
THE UNSPEAKABLE MILO BINDER
REAL GONE MUSIC
It takes some artists three days to come up with new stuff, but it takes others quite a bit longer. In the case of Vancouver/LA artist Milo Binder, it was ‘only’ 33 years between albums.
That is exactly the time that passed between Binder’s debut and its follow-up The Unspeakable Milo Binder. The first release garnered rave reviews and a solid fan base, but Bender practically ‘disappeared’ after it.
Now older and (probably) wiser, Bender is back. “I just woke up one day and realized that nothing was stopping me anymore. Traumas had healed, my family was secure, and suddenly, songs started coming to me again.”
With a stellar crew behind him, it seems Binder is consciously or unconsciously filling the wide gap left after the untimely departure of John Prine, and with that age thing behind him, seems to be filling it quite nicely with a similar musical and lyrical approach that deserves attention 33 years on.
