Charlie Bennett is 22-year-old indie/bedroom-pop artist born and raised in Birmingham and currently living in London. Inspired by the likes of Dayglow, Beabadoobee and Oscar Lang. Charlie started releasing music in late 2020 after learning how to record and produce from his bedroom during lockdown .
Bennett says β ‘I originally started learning how to make and record music after watching films like Sing Street, School of Rock and Begin Again. My first instrument was drums, I then learnt how to play bass and guitar by going through Green Day’s discography one summer’. Bennett also add β ‘I usually write songs by imagining a music video first’.
Fast forward to 2023, having created a dedicated community of 500,000 followers across platforms and millions of streams through his whimsical, homely tik tok and Instagram reels; Charlie shows no sign of slowing down. Bennett released his debut EP ‘Duvet Days‘ late 2022. “This project is an amalgamation of everything I’ve learnt, both in terms of growing up and in terms of being independent artist in the music industry” β “It is bedroom pop in it’s rawest from β me recording songs at 3am in my apartment, with no sound treatment, and using my pillows as a makeshift vocal booth”.
