CUSSEN – “DELUGE ON MAIN”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE
“Deluge on Main” is Cussen’s first single of 2022, capturing the spirit of toil and rebirth coming out of times of restriction, uncertainty but collectiveness into an optimistic era with a hunger to grow. Written, performed and produced by founding songwriter Kieran O’Callaghan, the DIY rock project’s new track was recorded in slow drips, here and there to allow fresh ears to inspect and amend sections, instrumentation and harmony like gradual dabs of a paint brush. Drums and backing female vocals were recorded remotely from Niagara Falls, Canada and Milan, Italy with the rest deliberated slowly in Cork, Ireland.
“Deluge on Main” is a weather report spanning the last two years of life on earth; spots of sunshine in a northern wet climate. ‘Deluge on main, coated in mud, sucking up the rain’.
