One thing is for sure, one can never predict what Miss FD will come up with when she releases new music. On As Above, So Below, she draws upon and is “influenced and inspired by Göbekli Tepe, a Neolithic archeological site near the city of Sanliurfa in Southeastern Anatolia, Turkey”, a site famous for its mysteries and astronomy connections. This is not the run of the mill topic for goth electronic music, but you can be sure that she will succeed in whatever she sets out to do.

As Above, So Below opens with the brooding “Summoning”. Miss FD layers her vocals on top of a relentless backing, creating a sense of foreboding, clearly indicating that not all is well here. The sitar sounds add to the overall effect and contributing a great deal. This leads nicely into the more upbeat “The Veil”. It is the longest song here and is the most conventional electronic piece.

She saves the best for last, with the title track. Here she brings it all together with a driving beat, aggressive keyboards, and strong vocals. Göbekli Tepe is thought to house carvings depicting a comet impacting the earth that occurred at 11,000 BCE. Miss FD, musically, depicts this and one can almost feel the cold of the mini ice age thought to have occurred at the same time. The song builds and builds until the frantic climatic ending.

Miss FD continues to use electronic music in very interesting ways. She does not limit herself with the genre, and uses the medium to explore and express her wildly creative ideas. Basing an electronic E.P. about Göbekli Tepe is not only unique, but it provides a great deal of source inspiration, which Miss FD uses to its fullest.
