“Black Widow” the latest single by Ontario rock band The Mystics is out now! Filled with sinister riffs, it’s a powerful, raw and muscular blast of alt-rock that struts and stomps along a solid beat amid a wall of fuzz. Released on Dec. 28th 2020, their new single hits you with that classic sound that the band has come to be known for, however as they move into a new year of unknowns, the group plans to keep evolving into something more.
It’s not someone or something, it’s your darkest fantasies and temptations playing out in real time and the consequences of those choices. Succumbing to our weakness for pleasure coming from a place of pain. Black Widow is a dying star from a time that’s gone forever. We can never go back, so here’s one last tune as we head into a future unknown. We want to sign off and let this tune represent the end of a chapter. We had one last tune to get off our chest before we could move forward. I want to love it, but our entire process of writing is changing, and we need to let this sound go so we can chart a new path. Classic rock is killing The Mystics. Black Widow is always tempting us to fall back into old habits and bad ways. Classic rock is familiar, by it’s time to move on in an unfamiliar world.

The Mystics are a psychedelic rock band from Barrie ON, Canada. Their sound is a mix of hard-hitting blues, southern rock riffs and Canadiana storytelling. The group writes music to rock the crowd, and bend the minds of audiences and listeners.
