Vancouver’s ATD have been tearing it up since blasting onto the punk scene in 2015. Their first full-length, A Total Disappointment, is anything but a disappointment. The album rips into high gear immediately, and what follows is around 17 minutes of relentless punk rock integrity.
Blistering guitar, gritty bass, lightning drums, and high-octane vocals converge to create a total ripper of a listening experience. ATD’s vibe at times is thrashy, with solid hits of hardcore and skate punk. Tracks “Poverty Row” and “Good Things” channel that good-natured shout-alongable sound of Dropkick Murphys and The Real McKenzies.
With so many tracks crammed into such a short duration, there is no room for messing around. ATD gets down to business, and their business is pure, unadulterated punk rock. “Good things come to those who fucking work for it,” proclaim the vocals on “Good Things”, and ATD has put their work in.
