SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: LOST LOVE – GOOD LUCK RASSCO

Lost Love

Lost Love
Good Luck Rassco
Stomp Records/Guerilla Asso

Timing is half the battle for a good album, and Lost Love’s Good Luck Rassco could not ask for a better release date. As schools let out across North America, and the warm winds blow in, Good Luck Rassco is everything you need to enjoy the long summer days. This jam-packed album of feel good melodies and (somewhat) innocent lyrics paves the way for making good memories. With its alternative and punk sounds, each track is privy to driving bass lines and classic distorted guitars.

Lost Love is developing a solid sound that is backed with experience. This album showcases a band that has improved through years of touring and recording. Songs like “Clay Turris” ooze with sophisticated production while still remaining honest to the genre of punk. It’s a hard balance, but Lost Love makes staying authentic while growing look easy.

“Turisto Cracko” is by far one of the best tracks on the album. From its witty and honest lyrics to its stellar structure, it should go on every summer playlist this year. The album ends on the track, “Burrito Kind Of Guy”, which sounds just as good as the title is. The song, though funny, has a subtle sense of nostalgia and is slightly sentimental through the “na na na” portion of the song.

Regardless of what your summer plans are, from work to the beach, Good Luck Rassco is the perfect addition to anyone’s summer mix.
