TENTATIVE PLANS – “GETTING OUT ALIVE”
A Spill Exclusive MusicΒ Premiere
Tentative Plans’ first proper EP, “Still” marks a slight change in the band’s initial acoustic direction, and steering more toward a darker, layered, avant-pop sound reminiscent of Azure Ray, The Album Leaf, Daughter, Imogen Heap, and Wye Oak.
The first single from this new release is “Getting Out Alive”. The song’s message is about manipulation, and is a defiant declaration of the protagonist stating that “I will not lose myself in a relationship that constantly seeks to change who I am.”
Quote
“Tentative Plans is an avant-pop/dream-folk duo from the greater Philadelphia area which includes vocalist and keyboardist Caitlin Kellagher, and multi-instrumentalist/vocalist Chris Caulder. The pair started out as roommates and naturally evolved into bandmates when they discovered their mutual love for all things emotive and interesting. Their vast musical tastes and backgrounds helped shape their sound, drawing inspiration from artists such as Azure Ray, Ida, The Album Leaf, Copeland, Lemolo, and Sun Kil Moon.”
