Nominations: New/Emerging Artist of the Year / Vocal Group of the Year /
Whitehorse
Luke Doucet and Melissa McCelland arenβt just husband and wife, theyβre also the power duo behind Whitehorse, a band that combines beautiful harmonies with stellar guitar playing. The misleading simplicity of the two artists is challenged by the layers of loops, percussion and keyboards in their work.
Nominations: The Oliver Schroer Pushing the Boundaries Award / Ensemble of the Year
Shannon Quinn
Hailing from Halifax, Nova Scotia, Shannon has performed as a fiddler/vocalist for the past 16 years. This folk musician breathes new life into traditional styles with her own modern flair and contemporary spin.

The 11th annual Canadian Folk Music Awards ceremony will take place December 3, 2016 at the Isabel Bader Theatre in Toronto. Tickets for showcases on Friday evening and Saturday brunch, hosted at Hughβs Room, are also available.
