SPILL NEW MUSIC: LEAPLING – “HEY SISTER”
Exploding In Sound Records
Brooklyn’s experimental power-pop trio Leapling are sharing “Hey Sister,” the second single from the band’s highly anticipated sophomore album, Suspended Animation . Due out June 10 via Exploding In Sound Records, the band debuted the track with NPR Music’s “Songs We Love” who said the song “pairs chunky strumming and distorted arpeggios with Arnes’ softly-sung voice.” NPR expanded on “Hey Sister,” offering, “As the song’s calm rumination briefly gives way to the disquieting heartache buried just underneath the skin, it’s a satisfying jolt.”
Leapling mastermind Dan Arnes is back with a new sound and energy, channeling the power-pop of the past while pushing modern pop’s boundaries with a raw simplicity. Suspended Animation is a new direction for the trio, an exploration of ideas without limits. This is power-pop for a new generation, an evolution as time keeps on ticking. Check out “Hey Sister” below.
