The Heat Inc. have distilled their signature blend of brutality and beauty into a track that could knock out a 200 lb truck driver. “True Romance” is loud, melodic, dangerous and utterly unabashed.
Vocalist Jon Dodd found himself experimenting with loose ends on bass in his home studio, initially jamming around the feel of an earlier riff before searching for something more melodic to drive the song forward. The blistering dive bar anthem is beautifully augmented by Marco Simoncelli (guitar), (Nico Rigot) (bass), and Maurizio Vitale) drums.
“I was at home in the studio just playing around on bass with this very easy rider, David Lynch kinda riff,” he explains. “I wanted a chorus that really opened up it up melodically, so I started throwing a few different progressions out while jamming with a friend on drums and mouthing random vowel sounds over the top into this busted mic.”
