Hailing from far upstate New York, The Mountain Carol are a atmospheric, electro-pop outfit who always blaze a unique path of their own. The band are gearing up to release a new album this summer, titled Starkiller And The Banshees (out June 1). Today, we’re excited to present you with their second single and music video for “Sway”!
The track features a beautiful Wurlitzer electric piano, bringing together a raw, beautiful and powerfully reflective piece. The DIY-style video, shot and produced by the band, provides a direct foil to the music, blending together disconnected scenarios, that blur the line between illusion and reality. “This is one of the first ‘new’ Mountain Carol songs. Conceived by the riverside one early morning, “Sway” was originally much faster with a guitar part sounding a little more like The Mountain Carol’s other single, “Dino.” This track not only showcases Bruce’s alien-soul keyboard skill but does so through Wayward Sound Studio’s beautiful Wurlitzer electric piano.”
