Since debuting in 2013 with their first studio album Cult, Niteppl (pronounced βNight Peopleβ) have set a standard for themselves uncommon among producers of their generation. Β Each new incarnation of the group, all helmed by lead writer Alton San Giovanni, has seen a rapid growth and change of sound and focus, shifting from their disco-infused 2013 debut (Cult), 2014βs Warrior EP, to 2015βs sophomore effort Nu Flesh which saw their sound focus in on specific electronic music genres; crafting pop songs through the usage of modern production techniques to create a tapestry the group considered Post-EDM, if only to reference their intentional use of bombastic EDM production in order to craft an instantly memorable pop-song cycle. Β With the release of “Losing Friends is Easy” Niteppl begin a new era for the group as they interweave their eclectic influences into a singular, notably more organic sound.
Niteppl have been featured in television and films including 2013βs MOTO 5, MTVβs Teen Wolf, as well as numerous collaborations with Go Pro, including an internationally syndicated commercial featuring snowboarder Travis Rice and most recently the webcast launch of the Hero 5 camera. Β Alton and Sawyer pride themselves on a cinematic approach to music, often marvelling at the impact the relationship between music and images can have on an audience.
Niteppl have performed with a huge range of acts including Hermitude, Kygo, Porter Robinson, Tourist, Lemaitre, Mr. Oizo, SebastiAn, Fred Falke, The Knocks, and a host of others. Β Their unique approach to songwriting together, as well as album crafting, set them apart from the pack. Β Their songs are meticulous in execution, the effort put into each second of material only goes to show that the boys take their work seriously.
