KIT MAJOR UNLEASHES CAMPY PUNK CHAOS WITH NEW SINGLE “TEENAGE WANNABE”
FUTURELESS
Punk/alt-rock firebrand Kit Major returns with her new single “Teenage Wannabe” on October 3rd via Futureless. A snarling, cinematic track brimming with horror-punk energy, it’s a tongue-in-cheek anthem of identity, chaos, and survival in a world that thrives on manufactured personas. The accompanying music video—directed by longtime collaborator Noël Dombroski—arrives on October 10th, bringing the camp and spectacle of B-horror and sci-fi films to vivid life.
“‘Teenage Wannabe’ is an anthem that channels campy B-horror and sci-fi films,” says Major. “It’s both a confession and a critique—an observation of how easy it is to lose yourself when everything feels manufactured, and a reminder that identity can’t be pinned down.”
Written by Kit Major alongside AJ Peacox (guitar) and Rob Nagelhout (drums/bass, production, mixing), “Teenage Wannabe” is both nerdy and seductive—stuffed with twists, turns, and a scream cameo by Major’s sister, Emma Lev. The single pulls inspiration from punk and horror icons—nodding to The Ramones, Misfits, The Cramps, and even the Castlevania video game series—while carving out Major’s own razor-edged lane.
For the video, Major sought to capture the chaos of her live shows while blending it with surreal horror imagery. “I wanted to bring back imagination, glam, and spectacle to my universe,” she explains.
Kit Major will take “Teenage Wannabe” to the stage this fall with a run of Los Angeles shows, culminating in a December gig with Bruvvy. Dates below.
