CLAIRE PORTER ANNOUNCES QUEBEC/ONTARIO TOUR DATES
SUPPORTING DEBUT ALBUM TIME ALONE
Newfoundland-based Claire Porter is a dynamic singer songwriter with a powerful voice. She’s been described as having the prowess and punch of Judy Garland mixed with the lyrical grit of Tom Waits. Porter’s recently-released debut album Time Alone is an alt-lounge project that both soothes and disturbs. It features seven songs that all serve as singles. Porter launches a tour on October 6’th in support of the new album. The Time Alone tour will include stops in Sherbrooke and Montreal in Quebec, as well as Stratford, Ottawa, Toronto, and Waterloo in Ontario. Also in the works is an upcoming release of a French version of the single “Preservatives,” due out before touring begins. Please see the full list of upcoming tour dates below. With several critically acclaimed singles already released, and the debut album Time Alone out now as well, Claire Porter has opened up a whole new can of worms, with songs about love and bugs.
In advance of the tour, Porter will be releasing a French version of her single, “Preservatives.” The song explores the idea that “you are what you eat” and the connection between food and identity. With lyrics about preserved foods like frozen, canned, and freeze-dried items, the track was accompanied by a self-directed music video featuring animated preserved foods dancing.
