DOCUMENTARY CELEBRATING 40 YEARS OF CANADA’S ICONIC BAND CAPTIVATES AUDIENCES NATIONWIDE WITH SOLD-OUT SCREENINGS AND STRONG BOX OFFICE PERFORMANCE

Blue Ice Docs is thrilled to announce that Blue Rodeo: Lost Together, the highly anticipated documentary chronicling the 40-year journey of Canada’s legendary band Blue Rodeo, was the #1 Canadian film at the box office this past weekend. Directed by Dale Heslip, the film has resonated deeply with audiences, achieving this milestone with just two days of screenings in theatres across the country.

The documentary premiered at the Whistler Film Festival, where it won the Audience Award, setting the stage for its successful theatrical run. It officially launched in theatres on February 1 and 2 with two sold-out screenings at Hot Docs Cinema in Toronto, followed by a limited rollout to Cineplex Cinemas nationwide, February 2 and 3. Despite having only two screening days in each location, the film captivated audiences demonstrating the enduring love for Blue Rodeo and their music.

Guided by the distinctive voices of Jim Cuddy and Greg Keelor, Blue Rodeo: Lost Together dives deep into the band’s creative partnership, their triumphs, and the challenges they’ve overcome along the way.

With limited theatrical screenings remaining and a few film festivals, fans are encouraged to catch the film on the big screen before it begins streaming on CBC Gem starting February 19.

Directed by Dale Heslip and produced by Cream Productions in association with documentary Channel, Blue Rodeo: Lost Together is a timeless tribute to one of Canada’s most iconic bands. The film is distributed by Blue Ice Docs and supported by Ontario Creates, the Rogers Documentary Fund, and Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credits.
