WEEZER SHARES NEW SINGLE “SHINE AGAIN”
REPRISE/WARNER RECORDS
This release marks the first track from the band’s forthcoming, still-untitled new album (release date TBC), which will be their first on new label Reprise/Warner Records. Originally distributed to fans via USB drives at an intimate performance last week, and teased on their Instagram, “Shine Again” is everything fans love about Weezer and more.
Earlier this week, the band announced the song alongside their 32-city North American arena tour “Weezer: The Gathering,” set to hit the road with special guests The Shins and Silversun Pickups this fall. To kick off this exciting era, the band also held what they’re calling Weezer: The Gathering – Initiation Week, consisting of a series of events across Los Angeles. The festivities have included a surprise rooftop-performance in Venice Beach, a trivia night at Barney’s Beanery, and a pickleball tournament against the band themselves.
To top off the celebrations, their song “Go Away,” a duet with Best Coast’s Bethany Cosentino from their 2014 album Everything Will Be Alright In The End, is currently Top 40 on the Daily Viral Songs Chart, averaging around a million streams a day all over the world.
