SLIGHTEST CLUE – “ZIPPER”

When Slightest Clue’s guitar player Sean Ries sent the band a demo titled “so many zippers,” they got so excited about this song, and instantly knew they had something on their hands. The band had been sharing a lot of music with raw and gritty textured guitar tones at the time (like Death From Above 1979 and Jack White), and they became really inspired to write a riff with those types of sounds.
Once the band had a rough idea of what the song might end up becoming, a big inspiration to get it finished was the idea of playing it live. There’s an electric current that gets all four of the band hyped up whenever they play it together, and they knew that this crazy energy had to be translated into the final recorded track.
