JANE’S PARTY DROPS “ROSE-COLOURED GLASSES” WITH GREG KEELOR
ANNOUNCE THE BEST OF WILD IN THE WOODS VOL. 2 OUT OCTOBER 16
Beloved indie rock outfit Jane’s Party are excited to announce their upcoming collection, The Best of Wild in the Woods Vol. 2, will be released on October 16, 2024. Alongside the announcement, the first single, “Rose-Coloured Glasses”, is available to stream today. This reimagined version of the iconic track from Blue Rodeo’s 1987 album Outskirts features a collaboration with the Canadian rock legend himself, Blue Rodeo’s very own, Greg Keelor.
A cover of the hit Tina Turner song, “The Best”, featuring multi-award winning songstress Carolina East, will be available September 16, followed by a remarkable take on the classic, “Islands in the Stream ft. Shad, pHoenix Pagliacci” on October 1.
The Best of Wild in The Woods Vol. 2 sees Jane’s Party pairing up with talented artists across a wide range of genres and styles, including Greg Keelor (Blue Rodeo), Ewan Currie (The Sheepdogs), Shad, pHoenix Pagliacci, Tom Moffett (Arkells) and Carolina East, and takes the band from Northern Ontario all the way to the east coast of Canada in St. John’s, NL. Says Keelor of working with JP, “They (Jane’s Party) are a talented group of musicians as well as players and great singers. We did a record at my place a few years back and it was inspiring.”
Building on the success of Wild in the Woods, a video series which was filmed as a way to create collaborative art amidst Covid restrictions, Vol. 2 once again showcases the band’s favourite Canadian artists and music pals, all performing originals and covers alongside JP in the great outdoors. The new collection follows The Best of Wild in the Woods Vol. 1, which saw several Canadian collaborators including Danica K, Nick Rose (Dwayne Gretzky), Tally Ferraro (Ferraro) and Skye Wallace.
“We have so many talented friends in our little circle that WitW became a great vehicle to collaborate and showcase some of them,” says JP vocalist and keyboardist Jeffrey Giles.
Says vocalist and guitarist Tom Ionescu, “Having learned from the technical barriers of the first series, Vol 2 saw us expanding our on-location audio arsenal, and resulted in a collection of recordings that captured the character and nuance only truly found in genuine live performance. We are excited to finally share these across streaming platforms!”
Last year, JP supported BRITs Critics Choice winner and popular singer-songwriter Tom Odell on a North American tour spanning 18 cities, with Canadian stops in Toronto’s Massey Hall, Montreal’s Place Bell, and Vancouver’s The Orpheum. The band last supported Odell in 2019 when they joined him on a massively popular European run after Odell’s ballad “Another Love” went hyper-viral on TikTok and charted globally, with 2.6 Billion streams alone on Spotify.
About Jane’s Party
Jane’s Party is a Toronto-based indie rock band that started as a casual garage project among four university friends in North York. Since their humble beginnings with The Garage Sessions LP in 2009, the band—comprising Zach Sutton (drums), Jeff Giles (keys/guitar/vocals), Tom Ionescu (guitar/vocals), and Devon Richardson (bass/vocals)—has evolved into a revered outfit with a diverse sonic palette. Over the years, they’ve dabbled in folk-rock, electro-pop, and polished pop rock, maintaining their signature catchy melodies and rich harmonies throughout.
With an impressive resume that includes placements in major films and TV series, collaborations with artists like Ewan Currie and Shad, and performances alongside acts such as Arkells and Tokyo Police Club, Jane’s Party continues to captivate audiences. Their last studio album, Live Again, perfectly captures their vibrant, live energy and has garnered significant attention, including a Top 40 alternative single in Canada. Now part of the Symphonic Distribution roster, Jane’s Party shows no signs of slowing down, consistently delivering compelling music and engaging performances.
