EISBRECHER “AUF DIE ZUNGE (FEAT. SCHATTENMANN)” OUT NOW
ALBUM KALTFRONT OUT MARCH 14 ON METROPOLIS RECORDS
Industrial hard rockers Eisbrecher are one of the most original and successful German rock acts of recent decades. November 2024 saw them release the thunderous manifesto “Everything Is Wunderbar” Bandcamp | stream | video as the first single from their forthcoming glorious ninth full-length record, Kaltfront (translated as ‘cold front’), following it up in late January with the loud and equally opinionated album title track Bandcamp | stream.
The second of these was followed almost immediately by “Tränen Lügen Nicht” (Tears Don’t Lie’) Bandcamp | stream | video, a cover version of a German no. 1 single from 1974 by schlager singer Michael Holm that had been issued by Eisbrecher in their home territory just ahead of the new album campaign as a humorous teaser. Bearing no resemblance to the music they had recorded specifically for Kaltfront, it has proved popular with fans and has now been added to the track listing.
“Auf Die Zunge” has been issued today as the final single lifted from Kaltfront ahead of its North American release on 14th March. The song features compatriots Schattenmann, a Neue Deutsche Härte (New German Hardness) band who formed in 2016 and have had four albums out to date
Eisbrecher have been going where it hurts with their songs for over two decades, pointing to the burn holes in our society and twisting their fingers in wounds we have inflicted on ourselves. Since forming in 2003, it has led to one of the most remarkable success stories in German rock music, with their most recent studio albums Sturmfahrt (2017) and Liebe macht Monster (2021) both hitting the domestic album chart at no. 1. They have also long since earned their considerable reputation as a titanic live force. Wherever this icebreaker docks, seismic tremors can be felt and floods of adrenaline are released.
