“Beasters is about watching a friend or family member chase someone they have a crush on. They are willing do anything to get attention from the person, even if it means changing their character or values. Overall they’re being taken advantage of – the lyrics are about trying to convince them to see the other side and let that person go.
The video is a metaphor; it shows a dude being rejected because he is trying to be something he is not. At the end he finally realizes he is making a mistake by trying too hard and finds some buds that let him know he doesn’t need to wear a mask and that he’s already cool without it.”
