A SPILL EXCLUSIVE MUSIC PREMIERE
Sweden’s Dixies List are the latest to join the parade of Nordic acts set on reminding those of us on this side of the pond of the glory days of the early-2000s indie scene. Their single “Drinking In The Kitchen” premieres exclusively on The Spill today and serves up a piping hot 153 seconds of crashing guitars, bouncy bass and punchy drums. All serving as the bedrock to a tale of coming of age in pandemic-era Stockholm.

“My lyrics are usually based on experiences and observations from my surroundings in the nightlife of Stockholm but as the corona pandemic broke out and we weren’t allowed to roam the streets as usual he had to gather inspiration elsewhere, looking inwards. Drinking In The Kitchen is about one of the small at-home gatherings that tried to fill the void the dancefloors left behind.”
*Note – the Swedish government pursued a more relaxed approach to Covid mitigation and did allow private gatherings to continue through the pandemic.
