ALPHA DU CENTAURE – “SUNRAY INERTIA”
A SPILL EXCLUSIVE MUSIC PREMIERE
Alpha du Centaure is a post-rock/blackgaze quartet from Lyon, France. Started in 2015 as an instrumental shoegaze duo and after two EP’s, the project took its current shape in 2018 following a line-up change. In 2023 they are back with a split in collaboration with German doomgaze duo Unknown Fault. UF vocalist Nadia also makes an appearance on the track “Sunray Inertia”. This is a chance for the band to go further into their new post-black influences and overall future musical orientation. Vocals are introduced and the tracks gain a new intensity, reinforcing the duality between tempestuous and atmospheric passages. The split will be available on April 7th, but you can preorder the vinyl on the band’s website where you can also find tour dates.

“‘Sunray Inertia’ is a concretisation of a long time project. Since almost the beginning of the band, we wanted to make a feature with a singer and this split was the perfect opportunity. Since we’ve discovered Unknown Fault, we’ve really loved Nadia’s vocals, and it’s such a pride to have her on one of our songs. This feature was decided really late during the recording process. Nadia had to write and work on it really fast, but she was really efficient!”
