SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: BUCKCHERRY – 15 (20th ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION)

Buckcherry

BUCKCHERRY
15 (20th ANNIVERSARY DELUXE EDITION)
REAL GONE MUSIC

Buckcherry is scheduled to mark its 20th anniversary by releasing an extended double album, 15, which has been remixed for its reissued release on January 17th, 2025. After a hiatus, the band decided to give the fans what they wanted — more cringeworthy hard rock!

The LP has many lyrics written by frontman Josh Todd that sound so personal it begs the question: Who is Todd writing about? The album is an in-your-face, raunchier ‘90s version of Bat Out Of Hell. You listened to that album for days before finally figuring out that the whole thing is about sex!

Some songs on the album have two versions, like “Crazy Bitch”: instrumental and acoustic, providing a salute to the band’s 2006 hit. Everyone who hears this song cannot help but think of the Paris Hilton sex tape.

However, Buckcherry’s newest album, 15, offers one welcome development: “Brooklyn”, a song that smooths out the rougher edges by blending country-fried blues with some urban rock sprinkled in. Combining slide guitar and catchy riffs, it represents a new flavour reflecting New York’s vast musical panorama.

With 15, Buckcherry provides a musical banquet of seasonings to satisfy rock lovers of various stripes. You can feel it coming in 2025, and a devoted fan absolutely cannot live without this album. It guarantees an exciting experience and could even make Buckcherry a favourite like its namesake, Chuck Berry — all it needs is some “reelin’ and rockin’!
