Tuesday at the Bovine Sex Club kicked off with Toronto pop rock band, Smoking In Bed. The iconic venue was perfect for an intimate night of jamming. Vocalist Tina Louise delivered upbeat fun melodies to an enthusiastic crowd while drummer Jacob Schmor kept energy up through crisp transitions and vivid expression. The band expressed their distaste for dating in the city, breakups, and bad roommates in matching cheetah print suits. In a conversation with Schmor after the show, he said the band has been really hitting their stride as of late, allowing for more creative freedom and speed in their performances. From the audience, guitarist and back up vocal Ethan Fetterly fueled this cohesion.
Smoking In Bed is one of those bands that put live shows before recorded music and this dedication is easy to observe during their performances.
