Wavves
V
Ghost Ramp/Warner Bros.
Surf rock/pop punk band Wavves released their fifth studio album in early October. It features 11 rendered tracks that should be added to the beach playlist you whip out every summer. V includes songs filled with stylized guitar feedback, catchy beats, happy and poppy surf punk riffs, and cute vocals to match; all characteristics of Wavves’ past work. The album artwork embodies the abstract punk ambience and mood emitted from any Wavves tune from any of their albums or EPs.
This seems to be their most successful album, judging by fan feedback, and features some really great music. The beachy basement-infused punk vibes begins with the first track and ends with the last. Check out “Way Too Much” and “Cry Baby.”
