BROWN ACID: THE TWENTY-FIRST TRIP
RIDINGEASY RECORDS

With the 21st issue of the Brown Acid series that covers all proto-heavy/hard rock releases of its first era, a number of questions come up to mind. First question could be the quote from that belated Ace hit song “How Long (Has This Been Going On)?”
The other would be how many obscure bands were able to reach studios and record their take on this (sub)genre, and the third would be—is there something like too much of a good thing?
And the folks at RidingEasy Records seem to be giving positive answers to the first two questions and no to the last one, because they seem to be able to dig out rough diamonds from out of seemingly nowhere every time they come up with one of these.
Ok, there could be a dud here and there, mostly due to a poor recording or a scratchy single the track is taken from, but this 21st issue seems to be lacking those. The best ones this time around are somewhere in the middle of the pack, like River Styx and Maxx, but the rest is up there with the rest.
