SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: THE PLOT IN YOU – VOL. 2

The Plot In You

THE PLOT IN YOU
VOL. 2
FEARLESS RECORDS

After the release of Vol. 1 earlier this year, The Plot In You returns with a second EP titled Vol. 2. Hailing from Hancock County, OH, The Plot In You have become quite a force within the modern rock scene. Similar to their previous release, Vol. 2 is a tight and concise three song EP that showcases The Plot In You’s talents when it comes to rock and metal core.

The opening track “Closure” as well as the closing track “All That I Can Give” both showcase vocalist Landon Tewers’ vulnerable and earnest vocal delivery when it comes to his melodies. Both of these tracks feature catchy hooks on top of heavy instrumentation with “Closure” being one of the band’s most pop sounding songs. Similar to Bring Me The Horizon, The Plot In You has the ability to craft catchy songs that fuse pop, rock, and metalcore all together.

“Don’t Look Away” is definitely the most intense track of the three. Speaking on the track, Tewers shared: “Don’t Look Away is a collection of thoughts and feelings about the human experience living in our current world. Dealing with one’s personal convictions and strife while comparing the suffering of others.” With a refreshing breakdown, crisp production, and Tewers’ signature screams, “Don’t Look Away” is reminiscent of The Plot In You’s earlier releases.

While Vol. 2 doesn’t stray far away from Vol. 1 or their 2018 LP DISPOSE, Vol. 2 showcases very solid tracks, memorable choruses, and some of the groups cleanest production to date.
