SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: KEITH WALLEN – INFINITY NOW

Keith Wallen

KEITH WALLEN
INFINITY NOW
RISE RECORDS

Rock music’s Breaking Benjamin’s guitarist Keith Wallen has released his new solo album Infinity Now via Rise Records. The follow up to 2021’s This World Or The Next comes alongside a spring tour with Breaking Benjamin, Daughtry and Staind.

The album opens with “Infinity”, which has sort of a pop sound to it mixed with some rock vibes. It’s a little hard to catch on to and doesn’t really set the tone for the whole album. Wallen incorporated several recognizable influences throughout this album. The most prominent is Breaking Benjamin, which you can hear in each song. “Headspace Holiday” has some great guitar riffs and a pretty good breakdown and is probably one of the more relatable songs on the album as it sort of speaks to mental health. “The Wolf” is a nice melodic song with some great lyrics. The riffs, drums and Wallen’s vocals are very well put together in “Nemesis”.  The album closes with “Dear Father”, another very personal and melodic song about the pains of missing a loved one, a tribute to his late father.

Even though the album didn’t start off with a bang, it gained some momentum and was pretty strong all the way through and went out appropriately with a softer landing. You can catch Wallen performing some of this album as support on the Breaking Benjamin/Daughtry tour.

About the Author
Melinda Welsh
Melinda is a music enthusiast from the US who grew up on vinyl in the 70s and 80s. She's a lover of all genres, but rock/metal runs through her veins. Music is always in the background and in her head. Unfortunately, she has to have a "regular 8-5" job since "Professional Concert Go-er" doesn't pay the bills. Her bliss would be to follow more musicians and bands than "People she may know" on social media. Her ultimate long term goal is to be the old lady just enjoying the show down in front at the barricades at live shows. Her favorite quote is "Where words fail, music speaks".
