Reviving an original live show that captivated audiences some 50 years or so ago is an extremely tricky task, and it has to involve some damn great live musicians to be able to pull it off. And, yes, 10 years ago, a tribute to the original Mad Dogs and Englishmen (a set of live shows and a live album by late Joe Cocker and a set of then big stars) was re-lived by a set of equally star studded set of musicians that were not only able to re-live the excitement of the original Mad Dogs and Englishmen but equal the quality of the original music.

With Tedeschi Trucks Band, one of the best live bands around at the moment, Leon Russell, now late original member of the Mad Dogs and Englishmen troupe, and a set of star-studded guests, original Mad Dogs members, such as Rita Coolidge, Claudia Lennear, and Chris Stainton, along with Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Warren Haynes, Anders Osborne, and Dave Mason, Tedeschi Trucks Band and Leon Russell Present: Mad Dogs & Englishmen Revisited Live At LOCKN’, not only recreates an obviously great concert recorded in September 2015, but manages to live up to the quality of the original Mad Dogs And Englishmen album and shows. The real way to make a tribute album.
