SPILL ALBUM REVIEW: TAJ MAHAL & THE PHANTOM BLUES BAND – TIME

Taj Mahal

TAJ MAHAL & THE PHANTOM BLUES BAND
TIME
THIRTY TIGERS

What more can you say about an artist that has been on the scene for over six decades, has rarely recorded something that is a dud (everyone has got at least one of those), and has covered about as many musical genres as there are out there?

The artist we are talking about here has been there, done that, and is still going. Well, not that much more to say except comment whether his new album is still within the ranks of at least something that is listenable.

The artist in question here is one Taj Mahal and his latest album simply titled Time, making any listener out there wondering whether after all this ‘time’ an artist, even one among the best has something substantial to offer.

And no, you don’t have to wonder but just listen to a collection of songs that cover almost all of the ground Taj Mahal covered throughout his illustrious career, perfectly sung and played, as he has done practically every single time so far, sounding as great as ever.
